But his stories are a little more graphic than I am sure you are able to write. I love reading your articles and blogs and looking through photos searching for someone I know, and just learning the different customs and places of northern Iraq. And it is very sad to know that the Iraqi people are so uninformed about basic cold symptoms or the occasional headache.It is extremely sad to think that they live with these problems when we can't go 5 minutes with a headache without popping an aspirin! It makes me think how fortunate we are in the U.S., I am sure you hear it from the soldiers as well as i do from my husband that they can't wait to just stand on AMerican soil again. And, there has been a shortage of news regarding this unit -- Col. Wuestner has emailed home with the activites and accomplishment of the unit. We (Elks Lodge) recently mailed a large assortment of Christmas gifts to the 11th along with 36 Soccer Balls to be handed out to the Kids of Iraq. I was hoping that you might be able to follow up and perhaps let me know the reaction of the Kids to the soccer balls. The 'guys' of the 11th promised to send photos, but I thought this might be a great story for the News-Miner. I am compiling a scrapbook for the Family Resource Group (FRG) with monthly photos of their meetings and activities starting with the 'Appreciation Day" (June--Ft Wainwright) where I met Col. Wuestner and my other contacts for the partnership. I am keeping all the articles you submit to be included in this record. And, now that I have finally made the effort to go to your blog I have discovered many excellent photos and articles. Keep up the good work, I envy your work asignment -- it is something that I would truly enjoy doing.
